Which providers are eligible?
Certicare is open to licensed U.S. healthcare providers: physicians (MD and DO), nurse practitioners, physician associates, mental health clinicians, and other licensed clinicians, each practicing under their own state license. Every application goes through identity and credential review.
How are provider credentials reviewed?
You apply with your name, credential, license state, and NPI. Certicare reviews identity and credentials before an account can issue documents, and replies by email, usually within 2 business days.
Which documents can I create?
The platform supports absence notes, return-to-work and return-to-school notes, medical leave and FMLA certifications, accommodation and ADA documentation, work-restriction letters, fitness-for-duty statements, disability documentation, treatment and appointment verification letters, and other provider-authored medical letters. Availability may depend on provider type and platform support.
What is kept in the issuance record?
Each issued document is logged with its document ID and issuance details, so later verification requests can be checked against a reliable record. Providers retain access to their own issuance records.
What exactly does verification confirm?
Written verification confirms two things: that the document was issued, and that the copy submitted matches the record. It does not guarantee acceptance by any employer, school, or insurer.
Can verification include medical details?
No medical information is released automatically. Disclosure beyond issuance and record match may require the patient's signed authorization or another lawful basis.
How is privacy handled?
Verification requests are reviewed individually by a clinician, answered in writing only, and limited to the defined scope above. Full details are in our privacy policy and terms.
How do billing and cancellation work?
Certicare is a monthly subscription: Solo is $29/month (1 provider, up to 25 documents a month), Practice is $79/month (up to 3 providers, 100 documents a month), and Group is $199/month (unlimited providers and documents).
