These terms govern use of certicare.io, Certicare's platform for licensed healthcare providers. By applying to join or using the service, you agree to these terms. Patient-facing services at certicare.org have their own terms.
1. The service
Certicare provides document-creation tools for licensed healthcare providers, an issuance record for each document created, and written verification handling. Verification confirms that a document was issued through the platform and that it matches the issuance record; it is not a review or endorsement of the document's clinical content.
2. Eligibility
- The service is available only to healthcare providers who hold an active, unrestricted license in a U.S. state or territory.
- You must provide accurate and complete information when applying, and keep your account information current.
- You authorize Certicare to verify your credentials against public registries, and to decline or close accounts that cannot be verified.
- Accounts are for the named provider(s) on the plan; credentials and logins may not be shared with unlicensed staff for the purpose of issuing documents.
3. Clinical responsibility
Documents created through the platform are the issuing provider's own clinical documents. You retain full clinical judgment and full responsibility for the content, accuracy, and appropriateness of every document you issue. Certicare does not practice medicine through this platform, does not direct clinical decisions, and is not a party to your relationship with your patients or clients.
4. Acceptable use
- Issue documents only within the scope of your license and only where you have an appropriate basis to do so.
- Do not create false, misleading, backdated, or otherwise improper documents.
- Do not misrepresent your identity, credentials, or affiliation.
- Do not use the service in violation of any law or professional obligation, or attempt to interfere with its operation.
5. Subscriptions and billing
- Plans are billed monthly in advance: Solo ($29/month, 1 provider, 25 documents/month), Practice ($79/month, up to 3 providers, 100 documents/month), and Group ($199/month, unlimited providers and documents).
- New accounts begin with a 14-day free trial of the chosen plan. No payment method is required during the trial, and billing starts only if you subscribe when the trial ends. If you do not subscribe, the account pauses and no charge is made; issuance records for documents created during the trial are retained under Section 6. One trial per provider.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing you authorize recurring monthly charges until you cancel.
- You may cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access until then. Partial months are not refunded.
- Monthly document allowances reset each billing period and do not roll over.
- We may change plan pricing with at least 30 days' advance notice; changes apply from your next billing period after the notice period.
6. Records and verification
Certicare maintains an issuance record for each document created through the platform and responds to verification requests in writing. If your subscription ends, issuance records for documents already created are retained so that previously issued documents remain verifiable.
7. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close an account for violation of these terms, for credential issues (such as a lapsed or restricted license), for non-payment, or where required by law. You may close your account at any time by canceling your subscription.
8. Intellectual property
The platform, its design, and its content (excluding the clinical content of documents you create) belong to Certicare. You retain your rights in the clinical content of your documents.
9. Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, Certicare disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. Certicare does not warrant that any recipient will accept a document; recipients make their own decisions.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Certicare's total liability arising out of the service is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the three months before the claim arose, and Certicare is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced by email to account holders and reflected in the effective date above. Continued use of the service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance.
